The lowest price is not always the best choice
The construction industry is more competitive than ever before and everybody is looking to get paid for their work. Finding a contractor for a reasonable price may be difficult, but you’ll want to make sure that you don’t settle on the wrong guy just because he offers a low rate.
If you are offered a low estimate from an inexperienced contractor, it may be because the contractor is using cheaper materials and unskilled workers. Also, by accepting the lowball offer you may put yourself at risk of having the contractor not show up, due to it not being a profitable job.
There are many things to worry about with lowball contractors, so you’ll want to be careful when comparing estimates and negotiating the pricing.
