Pantone Colour of the Year 2019

Pantone has announced their colour of the year for 2019, “an animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge” called Living Coral. We’ve created four Living Coral design boards which show different ways to incorporate this bold colour into your home decor.

4 Ways to Use Living Coral in Your Home

Pantone Colour of the Year with Navy and Gold

Pantone Colour of the Year with Navy and Gold

We start by pairing Living Coral with the rich and sophisticated palette of navy and gold. It adds a beautiful punch of colour to a glamorous navy and gold space. We’ve also added in a softer version of the same colour to bring a warmth to the overall look.

Pantone Colour of the Year with a Vintage Twist

Pantone Colour of the Year with a Vintage Twist

For our second Living Coral design board we went for a sophisticated look with a vintage feel. Pairing this bright colour with earthy greens and yellows, wrought iron and wood finishes and plenty of texture creates a blend that is modern yet aged, elegant yet rustic, and soft yet bold. A beautiful art piece adds sophistication to the room and also incorporates a variety of colours allowing for flexibility should you want to add or remove colours in the future.

Pantone Colour of the Year with Jewel Tones

Pantone’s Colour of the Year with Jewel Tones

Jewel tones are very on trend for 2019. Deep, rich jewel tones are a popular choice for dramatic and luxurious spaces and this bright colour is a great way to add another dimension to a jewel tone space. For this design board, we paired Living Coral with a rich emerald green and a deep berry hue and then we added a greige neutral for a warm touch.

Pantone Colour of the Year with Ocean Vibes

Pantone Colour of the Year Ocean Vibes

A series of Living Coral design boards wouldn’t be complete without a nod to the home of the coral itself. So, for our fourth and final design board inspired by Pantone’s Colour of the Year, Living Coral, we’ve put together a look inspired by the ocean. This design board is subtle and sophisticated with plenty of white, soft grey and smokey blue tones and pops of teal and coral. An actual coral motif is carried throughout the room in the rug, throw pillows and accessories.
